  • June 5. The 158th class of Starfleet Academy graduates. Among the new ensigns is Phigus Simenon (21), who is assigned to the USS Fearless.

September 4. Alynna Nechayev enter Starfleet Academy.
Binderia is admitted to the United Federation of Planets.
David Gold and Rachel Gilman are married.
Bajoran First Minister Verin Kolek is defeated in his reelection bid by Lale Usbor, a supporter of strengthened ties to the Cardassian Union.


  • September 4. The 163rd graduating class enters Starfleet Academy. Among the new cadets are Marta Batanides, Owen Paris, Jean-Luc Picard, and Cortin Zweller.
  • Klingon Chancellor Kaarg is killed when his ship, entering Qo’noS orbit, is hit by a mass transit vehicle that had flown away from the planet to hit directly upon Kaarg’s quarters. He is succeeded by Ditagh as Chancellor.1


February 17. Jason Garrett is born to Rachel Garrett and Ven Kaldarren on Betazed.
June 21. Ensign David Gold graduates from Starfleet Academy and is assigned to the USS Gettysburg under the command of Captain Mark Jameson.


June 11. Hugh Cambridge is born in Bristol, England, Europe, Earth.
May 23. Corat Damar is born on Cardassia Prime.
June. The 161st graduating class of Starfleet Academy graduates. Among the newly minted ensigns are Ian Andrew.
September 4. The 165th graduating class enters Starfleet Academy. Among the new cadets are Peter Joseph (17) and Vigo (18).


June. Lieutenant Alynna Nechayev graduates from Starfleet Academy and is assigned to Starfleet Intelligence.
The Manussan Empire is overthrown by the Mara, which establishes the Sumaran Empire, an empire in name only, as it brings the worlds under its yoke into a state of barely-controlled chaos.
September 4. Twins Gerda and Idun Asmund enter Starfleet Academy.


June 4. The 161st graduating class at Starfleet Academy graduates. Among the newly-minted ensigns are Marta Batanides, Owen Paris (20), Jean-Luc Picard (21), and Cortin Zweller.
June. Ensigns Jean-Luc Picard, Cortin Zweller, and Marta Batanides await their first assignments on Starbase Earhart. After a gambling incident, Picard is stabbed through the back by a surly Nausicaan, and is forced to have his heart replaced with an artificial one.
Icheb (2378) and q are on-hand when Picard is stabbed.
Ensign Jean-Luc Picard is assigned to the USS Antares.
Lieutenant j.g. Ian Andrew is assigned to Betazed to help update the defense systems. He meets young ambassador Lwaxana Troi and they share a brief romance.
November 26. Vulcan Ambassador Sarek (162) marries Perrin Landover.
A peace summit is held on Vulcan. The Legarans are on hand as observers. Representatives from Cardassia Prime request the opening of trade rights with the Federation. Ambassadors Sarek and Spock come down on opposite sides of the request. Perrin Landover stumbles onto a Cardassian plot to disrupt the Legaran treaty negotiations in order to leave Legara open for seizure, she is kidnapped. When Perrin is rescued and the plot prevented, the Cardassian government disavows any knowledge of the agents’ actions. Nonetheless, with the Cardassian application for trade rights determined to be a pretense, diplomatic overtures are deferred for an indefinite period.
Lieutenant (j.g.) Ian Andrew is reassigned to the USS Carthage under Captain Vance Haden.


Ian Andrew and Lwaxana Troi are married on Betazed.
Bajoran First Minister Lale Usbor is killed in office, and replaced by Cardassian puppet Kubus Oak.
The Cardassian Union annexes the Republic of Bajor.
Enabran Tain becomes head of the Cardassian Obsidian Order.
June. Ensign Gilaad ben Zoma graduates from Starfleet Academy.
The remains of an ancient Klingon vessel are discovered on planet Raknal V, a planet claimed by the Cardassian Union. A diplomatic incident begins as a result of the planet’s disputed nature, and Starfleet intervenes, getting the Klingons and Cardassians to “compete” to get control of the planet.
Tricia Cadwallader (14), Jiterica, and Andreas Nikolas enter Starfleet Academy. Jiterica does so as part of her support for Nizhrak’a's entry into the Federation.

  • February 2. The Maximals Depth Charge, Optimus Maximus, and Optimus Primal, and the Predacons Analytica and Tormentulas attain consciousness.
  • The Doctor (fifth incarnation), Nyssa (80), Tegan Jovanka (24), and Vislor Turlough (17) arrive on a comet, and are pulled into the political maneuverings of the independent Jovian Axis, who attempt to manipulate the gaseous Jovian natives into massacring an Earth delegation. The Doctor and his friends manage to prevent a war, with the misled Jovian natives sacrificing their lives to save the humans.3

June. Ensign Peter Joseph graduates from Starfleet Academy.
June. Ensign Vigo graduates from Starfleet Academy.
July 1. Kestra Troi is born to Lwaxana Troi and Ian Andrew Troi on Betazed.
Ambassador Spock and Commander Saavik are betrothed on Vulcan. Among the attendees are Admiral Leonard McCoy and Lieutenant Jean-Luc Picard.

  • Oppalassa is admitted to the United Federation of Planets.

September 4. Cole Paris enters Starfleet Academy.


The Constellation-class USS Stargazer, NCC-2893, is launched under the command of Captain Daithan Ruhalter. The crew includes first officer Commander Stephen Leach; chief engineer Lieutenant Phigus Simenon (from Onjata); and Lieutenant Gilaad ben Zoma, security chief. Also coming aboard are Lieutenant (j.g.) Peter Joseph in security and Ensign Vigo in tactical.
June. Ensigns Idun and Gerda Asmund graduate from Starfleet Academy. Gerda is assigned to the USS da Gama. Idun is assigned to the USS Ch'Arbok.
September 7. D’ndai is born in Calhoun, Xenex. His father is Gr’zy.
Antede is admitted to the United Federation of Planets.
