  • January 17 (Saturday). Charley Pollard (21) is transported from 2008 to this time on a time-shifting ship. She meets Madeleine Fairweather, and they face the Cybermen, who take them to the year 500002. Madeleine returns to this point, with the Cyberman command that she is Charlotte Pollard resulting in her amnesiac.1
  • The Doctor (eighth incarnation) and Lucie Miller (22) visit Nazi-occupied Paris, and Lucie is pulled into a stage show, where the goat-like Baroques focus their barbaric tendencies into harming one individual who continuously heals. The practice is ended.2
  • February 15 (Sunday). The British colony in Singapore collapses upon the invasion of Japanese forces.3
  • February 15. The Doctor (second incarnation), Polly Wright (25), Ben Jackson (24), and Jamie McCrimmon (23) arrive in Singapore. They encounter a small group of British soldiers, including Ben's own father, James "Jacko" Jackson. They manage to stop a fear-eating member of the Forsaken race, ensuring James and a fellow survivor's rescue.4
  • February 23 (Monday). U.S. Army Sergeant Frank Rock (23) gathers Easy Company, which includes Corporal Horace "Bulldozer" Canfield (20), Joseph "Wildman" Shapiro, Jackie Johnson, Louis "Little Sure Shot" Kiyahani, and Phil "Ice Cream" Mason.
  • March 23 (Monday). The homunculus Herman Munster (91) enlists in the United States Army.
  • March 24 (Tuesday). Beryl Evans's children's book Charlie the Choo-Choo is first published.5

The Invaders is formed. Its original roster includes Captain America (25), Bucky, the Human Torch, Toro, and the Sub-Mariner.
May 1 (Friday). Private detectives Eddie (39) and Teddy Valiant go to Toon Town in search of a bank robber. The criminal, Baron von Rotten (64), drops a piano on them. Teddy is killed.
May 3 (Sunday). A battle with the temporal villain Ian Karkull results in the Justice Society and several of their allies and loved ones being infused with chronal energy. This retards their aging to some degree.
May 24-26 (Sunday-Tuesday). After rescuing the crashed pilot Steve Trevor (28), and learning of the terrible world war ravaging Man's World, the Amazons of Themyscira hold a contest so as to send out a champion to help return Steve to his people and potentially guide Man's World into a new era. Queen Hippolyta's (3539) daughter Diana (122), after lying to get into the competition, is victorious, and Hippolyta reluctantly consents to allowing her to leave Paradise Island. Taking special bracelets and a tiara, an armor suit, and the mystical Lasso of Truth, she departs with Steve, returning him to America.[5]
Wonder Woman adopts the identity of Diana Prince, and joins the United States military, working with Steve Trevor, who begins amorous overtures towards her.
Wonder Woman joins the Justice Society.
July 3 (Friday). Jack Bartlett is born in England, United Kingdom.
Captain America (26) invades the laboratory of German scientist Baron Heinrich Zemo (41). He hits a tank containing the experimental Adhesive X with his shield, causing it to shatter. Adhesive X flows over Zemo's face, bonding his mask to it. [6]
August 9 (Sunday). United States Army Air Forces Colonel Robert Hogan (37) is shot down while leading a raid on Hamburg. He is taken to Nazi POW camp Stalag 13, under the command of Wilhelm Klink. Realizing Klink is the perfect patsy, Hogan secretly sets up an Allied command center in the base's underground. His team includes Staff Sergeant James Kinchloe (34), Technical Sergeant Andrew Carter (29), French Corporal Louis LeBeau (39), and British Corporal Peter Newkirk (32).
September. When Wonder Woman faces new menace Dr. Poison, she receives help from a Holliday College for Women fake sorority, "Beeta Lambda", led by the plump and heroic candy lover Etta Candy (19). Etta Candy and Diana are fast friends.[7]
October 1 (Thursday). At Iowa State University, Professor John Vincent Atanasoff completes construction of the world's first non-alien/time-traveler-influenced electronic digital computer, the Atanasoff-Berry Computer, named for he and his graduate student Clifford Berry. A digital pocket realm begins formation due to the techno-psionic nature of it and its interactions with humans' powerful latent psionic power.
October 15 (Thursday). Pol Krinn, Time Trapped, along with Bits, appears at this point. Meeting Max Mercury, Uncle Sam, and U.S. President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Pol is soon recruited to the All-Star Squadron.
October 16 (Friday). Mike Mouse (1), fleeing a plague of cats, becomes empowered by a bar of Super Soap. He adopts the heroic persona of Mighty Mouse, and rids Mouseville of their scourge.
October 29 (Thursday). Pol Krinn completes his two weeks of basic training in the United States Army. After meeting the All-Star Squadron's full membership, he is sent on a mission into Europe, but is unable to penetrate the barrier placed there by Adolf Hitler. He and Bits disappear.
December 16. Donald Duck (22), a bellhop at a swanky hotel, is on his last chance at work. His old enemy Pete Pete (42) comes to stay at the hotel. Pete's currently obnoxious son Pete Jr. (3) comes along, and makes Donald's life miserable. He pushes Donald past the breaking point, who accepts being fired and then gives the child a beating.[8]

AFTER
