Timeline: 1930



  • January 4. In Los Angeles, police officer Edgar Kennedy, on notice for failing to stop a series of robberies, comes across Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy sleeping on a park bench. He blackmails them into attempting a robbery at his chief's home in an effort to boost his profile and secure his job. Laurel and Hardy make several bumbling attempts to get in the house. When they make a ruckus resulting in the activation of an automated piano playing, they escape, just as Kennedy arrives. Kennedy is found by the chief holding the bag of goods, and is accused of being the serial burglar himself.1
  • Paula Smith (35) sees a newspaper photo of the "Industrial Prince of England" Charles Rainier (39), and recognizes him as her husband John "Smithy" Smith, missing for ten years. Realizing he has probably regained his true identity and forgotten her and their life together, including their son, she travels to London and meets him, applying to serve as his secretary. He fails to recognize her, but does feel a sense of familiarity. She uses her birth name, Margaret Hanson, for the interview. He hires her on.2
  • March 8. Former U.S. President and Supreme Court Chief Justice William Howard Taft (72) dies.3
  • Leonard McCoy (40/2267) arrives in this period in New York City through the Guardian of Forever. He is soon followed by James Kirk (34/2267) and Spock (37/2267). They are able to set history back on its normal course with the death of Edith Keeler, whom Kirk was in love with.4
  • June 5-6. The Doctor (fourth incarnation) time-travels to this era in London, England to drop off library books. While there, his companions Romana (second incarnation) and K-9 (Mark II) help him investigate a time tunnel, where they meet Percy Closed and his fellow time-traveler vacationers. This leads to confrontation with a disembodied alien consciousness animating human corpses. The consciousness, which plans on destroying the Earth's surface to power up a rocket to propel it from the Earth in a new corporeal host, ends up stranded in space. The Doctor and friends leave without having returned the library books.5
  • July 7 (Monday). Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (71) dies of a heart attack.6
  • Kira Nerys (27) and Miles O’Brien (46) (both 2371) briefly materialize while searching for their timelost comrades.7
  • Before being sent off to boarding school, Christopher Robin attends a going-away party with his friends (Winnie the Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore, Roo, Kanga, Rabbit, Owl, and Tigger) in the Hundred Acre Wood.8
  • October 5 (Saturday). Runaway Charley Pollard (18) poses as a boy and sneaks aboard the R101 airship. The Doctor (eighth incarnation) arrives there, followed by a vortisaur. The Doctor meets Charley, and the two team up when dealing with a conspiracy of the British government to try and get control of a Triskelli ship. In the end, the Triskelli take a British official with them to help adjust to their new status quo, and the R101 ends up crashing. The Doctor and Charley escape on a vortisaur, and Charley joins the Doctor in his travels on the TARDIS.9
  • November 1 (Saturday). The Doctor ("tenth" incarnation) and Martha Jones (22/2008) visit New York City, and stop the Dalek Cult of Skaro from reproducing and decimating humanity. During the events, Cult leader Sec mutates himself into a human/Dalek hybrid, and is slain by his fellows as a result. The Dalek Caan, the last surviving Dalek, flees.10
  • November 8 (Saturday). Members of the Legion of White Decency, a white supremacist group, sets the Black Spot, a Black NCO tavern, aflame. Over 80 people die in the massacre, but Will Hanlon and Dick Halloran are among the survivors. The creature below Derry, manifesting as a giant bird, feeds.11
  • December 31. The Doctor (eighth incarnation) and Charley Pollard () visit Singapore. Sebastian Grayle visits him to gloat, and the travelers set out to solve the mystery and stop Grayle.12
