Timeline: 1191-1200



  • April. Robert, Earl of Huntington, leaves his courtly duties behind, and adopts the identity of the outlaw Robin Hood, seeking social justice by stealing from the rich and giving to the poor.
  • Robin Hood gathers a band of similar-minded fellows and moves into the forest with them, naming them the Merry Men. Azeem is one of the group's first members.
  • Robin Hood happens upon a man named John Little. They have a duel using quarterstaffs, where Robin loses. In defeat, Robin invites John to join his Merry Men, and names John his second-in-command. He ironically gives him the new nickname of Little John given his great size.


  • Robin Hood duels the Catholic monk Michael Tuck. Robin loses, and invites Tuck to join his band of Merry Men.
  • Robin Hood duels his nephew Gamwell, who has been exiled from his home for killing his father's steward. After losing to Gamwell, Robin invites him to the Merry Men, and renames him Will Scarlet based on his clothes' color.
  • May 20. Robin Hood rescues a boy named Much (14), who is about to be beheaded for having killed a deer. The grateful Much joins Robin's Merry Men.
  • Robin Hood recruits the minstrel Alan-a-Dale into his Merry Men.
  • The Doctor ("twelfth" incarnation) and Clara Oswald (27/2014) travel to the time and place of Robin Hood's adventures, and the Doctor refuses to accept that there isn't a fraud taking place. Ultimately, he accepts Robin Hood's existence, though there are robots involved anyway.1


  • March 4. Saladin dies of a fever.
  • English regent Prince John holds an archery contest in order to trick and capture Robin Hood. Robin does participate, and wins. Before he can be caught, he escapes, and takes Maid Marian with him, who joins him as an official member of the Merry Men.


  • February 9-12. The ogre Shrek's peace is disturbed by the arrival of a group of mystical beings and Fey folk taking up residence in his swamp. Among them, and the most annoying, is a talking donkey named Donkey. Shrek and Donkey travel to the castle of Lord Maximus Farquaad, where Shrek takes an assignment to rescue a princess and get the creatures relocated. Shrek and Donkey rescue Princess Fiona from a dragon, though Donkey's seduction of the colossal beast leaves it heartbroken. Over their two day journey back to Farquaad has Shrek and Fiona falling in love, but her curse that turns her into an ogre at night, as well as communications issues, results in their not getting together. Fiona nearly marries Lord Farquaad, but then Shrek admits his love to her, and they kiss, supremely enforcing the curse so she is permanently in ogre form. Donkey's new girlfriend Dragon eats Farquaad (55).2


  • May 7. A talking fox eats the gingerbread boy John Dough (10).


  • April 6. Richard I of England dies from a crossbow wound whose mending was botched. Richard's brother John, one-time usurper, ascends to the throne.
  • The Doctor (fifth incarnation) and Nyssa arrive near Stockbridge Castle, and stop an incursion by the Rutan Host.


  • The last Hylian leaves Skyloft.
  • The hideous abominations called Oocca begin landing on the abandoned city Skyloft in the skies of Hyrule.
