Biography

Harriette Baines grew up with an absentee father. She came to marry police officer Carl Winslow, and have three kids. For a time, she worked at the Chicago Chronicle newspaper as an elevator operator. In 1989, after moving into an apartment, her sister Rachel found herself a widow, and so she and her husband moved into a large house to accommodate the large household. Around the same time, Carl's mother Estelle came to live with them. Not long after, the teenage stalker Steve Urkel became infatuated with the Winslow family. His bizarre science experiments resulted in Harriette's youngest daughter, Judy, being erased from existence.

Notes

Harriette Winslow was a character created for the television series Perfect Strangers (1986-1993).. She got a spin-off in the show Family Matters (1989-1998), which dealt with her family, but the show was quickly dominated by the character of Steve Urkel.
