Biography

The man called Forge was a member of the Cheyenne tribe, who eschewed his shamanistic upbringing, joining the army during the Vietnam War. His platoon slaughtered, he used their souls in a spell to kill the local Viet Cong, a decision that would leave him open to attack by the Adversary. Losing a hand and a leg in that conflict, he went on to work for the government, as he was also a mutant with the natural ability to understand and build machinery. This work led him to interact with the quasi-outlaw X-Men, and their leader Storm in particular, with whom he developed an on-again, off-again romance. Forge would go on to join the X-Men himself, working with the main team and satellite teams intermittently over the next decades.
